Synopsis
Carrie Ambler, a Professor in the Biosciences Department at Durham University, UK, also serves as the Chief Scientific Officer of LightOx Ltd, a company dedicated to pioneering, innovative light-based therapies for the treatment of epithelial conditions. Throughout her two-decade academic career, Carrie has conducted extensive research on stem cells, tissue repair, regeneration, and pathology, employing a diverse range of strategies. Five years ago, she established LightOx Ltd as a spin-out company with a primary focus on developing minimally invasive, light-based solutions for addressing cancers, pre-malignant lesions, and various skin conditions. In this seminar, Carrie will share how she integrates academic and practical research programmes with the overarching goal of enhancing treatments for patients afflicted by skin conditions.
